Angel
Ocasio is a
veteran of comedy for the past 20 years. A graduate of Ringling Bros. and Barnum
& Bailey Circus "
Angel
has been selected twice as the Clowns of America International
Artist-In-Residence in 1996-1997 and 1998-2000. Formerly, Angel was the
Education Director for World Clown Association for 1998-1999.
A columnist for the Funny Paper Magazine, Angel also contributes
educational articles to "The New Calliope" and "Clowning
Around" magazines. Angel was also a senior columnist for Laugh Makers
Journal. Angel is the Executive Director and founder of the
"Comedifest" a comedy/clown conference in its 14th year of providing quality clowning education.

SLAPSTICK
COMEDY: (Hands On)
Easy
physical moves; trips, walking into walls & doors.
Slaps, hits, butt kicks, ear pulls, exaggerated actions and more. Learn
to do it safe and effective.
Developing
and understanding what makes a character. You
will learn how to begin to create and discover your character by hands on
exercises.
SILENT
COMEDY: (Hands On)
Learn
how to communicate and make people laugh by using body gestures and facial
expressions.
STAGE PRESENCE: (Hands On)
Take
control of your audience and hold them throughout your performance.
Recover from any mistakes or audience interruptions.
Learn to perform to them and with them.
Understand
how your character discovers. Learn
to perform (play) in the moment. Learn to find the comedy in a prop or a
situation. Through the use of movement and improvisation, we will take an idea,
a spontaneous thought, and together we will find the comedy.
COMEDY
MOVEMENT (PHYSICAL COMEDY):
(Hands On)
Add
dimension to your character with simple comedic movements.
Establish your character from the beginning of your show and keep your
character alive throughout your show.
HOW TO BE FUNNY: (Hands On)
This
is a fun workshop that will push you to the edge of your comfort zone.
What you get out of it will enhance what you do as an entertainer.
PARTNERS
IN COMEDY 1 & 2: (Hands On)
Part
1: working with a partner - Part 2: working with the audiences.
Learn simple techniques to bring out the best of each performer or
audience member.
DEVELOPING AN ACT: (Lecture/Demonstration)
Learn
what it takes to put a performance together; from how long to make an act, to
how to combine what skills you know in your act.
SKITS: (Lecture/Demonstration)
Learn
how to perform a classic skit or add a new twist to one.
Also, learn how to write a skit from your ideas.
STROLLING
ENTERTAINMENT: (Lecture/Demonstration)
Use
a hat, a cane and various props to entertain people while strolling at fairs,
festivals and other events.
COMEDY
JUGGLING: (Hands On)
Learn
basic juggling and how to incorporate comedy and use it now!
Find the comedy in the props or make the props the comedy.
BALLOON BUFFOONERY: (Lecture/Demonstration)
Don't
just blow up balloons and twist them, learn how to entertain your line of
children and adults while blowing, tying & twisting balloons.
This workshop will take two or three prepared skits and break them down and show what works and what doesn’t work. Then with the assistance of the performer rework the skit so that it would be of performance quality.
Don't take life too seriously. Learn to find humor in your personal life and your work. Through a series of fun and funny exercises, you will learn how add play to your life with a few new skills. This workshop is suited for small or large groups.
